Diagnostic Use

Test to detect TCF3::PBX1 transcripts in patients with the t(1;19)(q23;p13) translocation - about 5-6% of childhood ALL and 3% of adult ALL. It occurs almost exclusively in pre-B-ALL expressing IgM.

Additional Specimen Information

12 ml peripheral blood in EDTA. 1-3 ml of bone marrow in EDTA or RPMI (anticoagulant).
Transport to the laboratory at ambient temperature within 48 hours of collection to ensure high-quality RNA can be extracted.
