The Toxicology and Workplace Drug Testing laboratory at Canterbury Health Laboratories provides a specialist service across a range of different analytes that support decision making in the acute hospital setting , drug treatment programmes, occupational health providers and in the workplace drug testing area.
The laboratory uses a variety of chromatographic analytical techniques including Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography and Headspace Gas Chromatography.
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of various drug classes is provided along with drug screening across a variety of biological matrices, occupational exposure monitoring of harmful solvents in the workplace and then screening and confirmatory services for industry monitoring of prescription drug and drugs of abuse in the safety sensitive workplace.
The Laboratory has accreditation to the ISO-15189 medical testing standard as well as AS/NZS-4308 Urine drug testing standard and AS/NZS-4760 Oral fluid testing standard for Workplace Drug Testing.
