Melbourne use a lithium heparin tube (no gel) with the plasma separated within 30 minutes; and wrapped in foil to protect from light.
Require a 1mL plasma sample but a 0.5mL sample for paediatric patients would be sufficient.
Do not test on amniotic fluid samples.
