Interpretation

Titre < 1:80 – No serological evidence of contact with schistosomes

Titre 80-160 – The titre is not suggestive of an evolving infection. It may correspond with a past or an already treated schistosoma infection.

Titre > 160 – Infection with Schistosomes at some time. The presence of antibodies cannot be used to determine the current status of infection. Suggest examination of faeces and/or urine for eggs.
