Reference Intervals

Trough concentrations >1mg/L are effective for treating most fungal infections.

For prophylaxis, trough concentrations >0.5 mg/L are recommended.

Toxicity rare, though increased at >5 mg/L

Patients with hypoalbuminaemia have a higher free posaconazoleconcentration for a given total itraconazole concentration.

Posaconazole inhibits drug metabolism, increasing exposure to multiple other drugs.
