Additional Referral/Aliquot Information
Aliquot Instructions 1.5 mL freshly washed red cells.
Preparation of washed red cells to be done within 48 hours of collection:
Spin EDTA or Heparinised blood. Remove plasma and buffy layer. Add normal saline, mix packed red cells, re-spin, remove top saline layer. Repeat the above wash steps twice more, remove saline and freeze packed red cells. Please state on form "washed RBCs"
