NMO & MOG antibodies are performed on a dual testing system. Requests for NMO will also have MOG testing performed & reported.

Negative NMO-IgG does not exclude the presence of a neuromyelitis optica (NMO)-related disease. NMO-IgG has a sensitivity and specificity of 60-75% and 90-99% respectively for NMO-related diseases (Jacob et al., J Neuroimmunology 187:126-138, 2007)
