Additional Specimen Information

Isolates for identification by MALDI-TOF must be on an agar plate, preferably 24-48 hrs old. Send anaerobic organisms in a pouch if possible. This test is done daily.

Sequencing is generally performed once a week, organisms should be sent on an agar plate but age is not critical.

This test is used for one-off testing, random requests or sample information only. It is also used for identification information and billing will be on a case by case basis.
