Legionella PCR is done on all patients whose clinical details include: a) ? Legionella or ? Legionnaires disease, b) Pneumonia, c) Immunocompromised.
Note: Culture is not routinely performed. PCR testing is required
If Legionella is high probability consider requesting a urine for testing Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 and/or PCR.
