Test Method

FLT-3 ITDs are amplified by PCR using primers flanking exons 14 and 15 of the FLT3 gene. Fragment analysis is used to visualise the PCR products and the ratio of mutant FLT3-ITD /FLT3-wildtype is determined by the height of the fluorescent peaks.
