Canterbury Health Laboratories wishes to advise that from January 2026 we will no longer be offering testing for diphtheria antibody. Any samples received after this date will not be processed.
The indication for diphtheria antibody testing is in the assessment of immunodeficiency. There are alternative vaccine serology tests available for this purpose and the immunopathology team can be contacted to provide advice on suitable testing strategies, if required.
