Diagnostic Use

A Direct Antiglobulin Test is useful in demonstrating in vivo coating of red blood cells with IgG or the complement component C3d in the following settings:
-Autoimmune hemolytic anemia
-Hemolytic transfusion reactions
-Drug-induced hemolytic anemia
