Medical Staff must notify laboratory directly. Specific tests are discussed at this point with laboratory staff.
Additional Specimen Information
Patient sample: Scraping performed by medical staff with lab staff present at bedside. Clinician to prioritise tests required, viz, Gram stain, bacterial culture, viral culture, fungal culture, Acanthamoeba culture/PCR.
Deliver to lab ASAP
