Flow cytometry analysis is used to enumerate the number of CD34+ Haematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation. HSCs are measured in the peripheral blood to indicate the best time to perform the harvest collection. HSCs are measured again in the harvest product to ensure adequate numbers have been collected to go ahead with the transplant.
