Busulfan is an alkylating agent used in preperative regimens associated with bone marrow transplantation. It is the mainstay of treatment for chronic myelogenous leukaemia.
Where analysis is done to determine the area under the curve (AUC) for the drug's pharmackinetics, serial samples must be collected. Collect samples at 30 minute intervals for the first hour and a half after administration of the drug and then another level prior to the next dose.
Do not use SST gel tubes for this analysis
