Pre-testing Requirements

Aseptic technique essential, surface clean both skin and septum of the blood culture bottle(s) after the flip cap is removed.

Additional Specimen Information

Specimen Collection Protocols - Optimum sample requirements are 8-10 mls per bottle.
Preferably two sets collected from two different sites and labelled accordingly.
Ensure NO air is introduced into the anaerobic bottle (purple).

Deliver immediately to lab, by hand or lamson tube (using protective cones).
