Aseptic technique essential, surface clean both skin and septum of the blood culture bottle(s) after the flip cap is removed.

Paediatric Blood Culture bottle (Pink bottle)
Paediatric Sample: Single aerobic paediatric bottle (anaerobic bottle dependent on clinical presentation) optimally 1-5 mls.

Do not refrigerate.
Deliver immediately to lab, by hand or lamson tube.
