The Point-of-care testing (PoCT) service at Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL) provides management and support for diagnostic medical testing devices used at the site of patient care across the Canterbury region. We support over 5,000 users across more than 35 sites, including public and private hospitals, medical centres and pharmacies.
At CHL we are committed to ensuring high-quality, timely laboratory testing is available to maximise patient care. We strive to continually review processes and technology to meet the changing needs of clinicians and patients.
The laboratory has a dedicated team responsible for the implementation, training and ongoing support of clinical staff using PoCT devices throughout Canterbury.
We are proud to be an accredited service to international standards NZS/ISO 15189 and ISO 22890, particularly as CHL was the first medical diagnostic laboratory in the world to achieve this accreditation.
